Under German court procedure rules, it is necessary to serve papers to start proceedings correctly. If an overseas party does not have an address within Germany, the process for serving these papers abroad is lengthy and complicated. It is therefore customary – and indeed often required by the party supplying the service or loan under an agreement governed by the laws of Germany – for the overseas party to appoint a German process agent (Zustellungsbevollmächtigter) and agree that service at the address of the German process agent will constitute proper service for the purposes of the court procedural requirements (Zustellungsbevollmächtigung).

As soon as the appointers have been registered, we have received the completed appointment form and the agreed fees, we will provide you with the appointment form duly signed by Alex Process Agent Service GmbH accepting the appointment.
